FLAMS

Flams are played by striking the playing surface with both sticks, one slightly before the other, and one softer than the other. A flam normally notated by a "grace" note. We have chosen to represent this on the web by making the grace note, or softer note, a lower case letter.

Anything that's worth doing is worth doing well! I've spent the last few weeks getting a couple of complete rudimental families together. Each rudiment is printed & explained, PLUS there's a midi file for you to play along with (kind of like the old "Frank Arsenault" record I had when I was growing up!). I've included practice suggestions and exercises to help you isolate the problems that most students have!
